Info:

The Sciencepreneur Bootcamp is designed for aspiring life science entrepreneurs and prepares you for a different world. For us, success means helping you thrive in your transition from a research-focused scientist to a business-minded, entrepreneurial scientist. Hence, we designed a 3-day workshop schedule tailored to scientists and offer you a unique combination of three key ingredients that go beyond the traditional entrepreneurship training.

1. Unlock your potential

With our tailor-made psychometric assessment before and during the program, we help you to discover your entrepreneurial potential as well as clusters of traits and motivational drivers which promote your development journey: Who is your entrepreneurial "you"? What complementary characters would help you thrive in a team? How can you get comfortable feeling uncomfortable?

2. Try before you fly

How can you know if it works without having tried it? Live your first startup experience and experience the irreplaceable value of living through the challenges of a startup leader in our tailor-made company-building simulation.

3. Execute with experts

We engage business and venture experts from the life sciences to share their experience with you, guide you and answer all your questions. Combined with the most recent entrepreneurship education approaches, this will enable you to uncover the secrets of successful sciencepreneurs.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Irrespective of your career stage – from Master students to PI – we encourage scientists to apply via our event page https://events.hifis.net/event/3667/  until April 19th, 2026. You do NOT need to have your own transfer/startup idea/project to apply!

You must be employed at one of the six Helmholtz Health Centers, i.e. DKFZ, MDC, HZI, DZNE, HZDR or Helmholtz Munich.

In total, there are 12 spots available and we which to enroll 2 scientists per center based on the quality of their application and motivation to explore science entrepreneurship.
